We are focused on creating a safe and fun place where children form strong relationships

1 Timothy 4:12

We strive to create an environment that focuses on different learning styles and provide activities that will include all children in learning about Jesus and growing their faith.

At Epiphany, we do not make a distinction between children and adults in the respect that we are all God's children. Each of us, no matter the age, has been given the ability to Engage, Encourage, and Enrich others through Christ.

We do not create a separate church for our little ones because we see them as a valued member of the church. We encourage families to keep their little ones with them on Sundays. We invite the children up to the altar for a children's message we offer at our 10:45am service, and they receive a blessing from the Pastor's during communion. Due to the pandemic, the children's message is not currently being offered during services.  Please find children's messages called SWITCHTube under our Media page.

We work with families to help grow their faith, and we feel that is done best when the family is worshipping together! We also offer various opportunities for the children and their families to be involved in our church community through Sunday school, events, missionary projects, and social activities. Seeing faith in action and recognizing that each person has unique gifts and talents helps all children understand that we are all created differently. Together we can use our unique gifts and skills to help our local community, our country, and our world!

Mom's Connect Group

Being a mom is not for the weak! At Epiphany, we are not just here to support your children, but you as well!

Our Moms Connect is a group for moms of all ages. We meet bi-monthly during the school year for dinner and Bible studies on Thursday evenings at the church. Childcare is available. We also enjoy special girls nights out and a summer weekend retreat. Come be in a community of people in your same shoes and have some fun!

Beth Hixon

Your Children's Director

Beth is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and has lived in Houston for most of her life. Beth has been married to her husband Ed, and they are the proud parents of 3 children, Christopher, Peyton, and Paige. At an early age, Beth's most significant influence was always her mother and sisters, who were firmly rooted in their faith and love for Jesus. Beth moved on from her prior successful business career to become the stay-at-home mom she always wanted to be and saw her arrive at Epiphany Lutheran Church & School when her oldest son was 3 years old. Beth says that only then did God begin the prolonged process of leading her into His ministry first by getting involved in programs for moms, then leading Vacation Bible School, and finally into her current role as director of Children's ministry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I leave my kid with you forever?
No, nice try.

Do I need to be a church member for my child to attend your events?
No, our goal is to share the good news of our Lord and Savior through a variety of programs. Whether you are a long-standing church member or new to the neighborhood, our doors are open for you to participate in any events we hold for children.

What if my child has allergy/medical concerns?
We will be happy to work with a parent who has a special need when it is possible. As far as food allergies are concerned, we strive to be peanut-free whenever possible and can always accommodate individual allergy needs with enough notice. For specific medical needs, we will try our best to work alongside the parent to meet special needs whenever possible.
